Retreat - Tripadvisor

Sailport was really unlike any other suite I have stayed in. I actually went with a group of 100 young women (a huge and daunting number), however that did not even phase the staff. They treated us with the upmost respect and were extremely accommodating. The rooms were clean and always fully stocked with glassware, towels, and extra shampoo. The view was breathtaking and the little private beach and pool were idea for our relaxing weekend! Thanks again! Gabbie A

DGretreat - Tripadvisor

The staff here was fantastic and very helpful in accommodating myself and close to 100 sisters from our organization. The room was gorgeous as well as the view. The private beach was a perfect place to relax during our work week. Staff here was probably the nicest I've ever met at any type of hotel, especially when checking almost 100 of us in. Overall, there are great restaurants within walking distance, a nice private beach, a pool, and every rooms were gorgeous. I will most definitely be staying here again with or without the 100 other members of my organization. Thank you so much! usfsam

Sisterhood Retreat

Breathtaking waterfront views! Friendly and hospitable staff! Clean and wonderful pool/beach area! Couldn't have wished for better, or more reasonably priced accommodations! Fabulous retreat with my Delta Gamma sisters! USFdg

Literally Favorite Place in the World- Trip A

I had stayed at Ocean Pointe 12 years ago and this resort holds a huge place in my heart as it was the last holiday I was able to spend with my nan before she passed away. I love Ocean Pointe and was so glad that I was returning. The apartment we were given was in building 2, the apartment was clean, well laid out and was fine for our stay. We wished we were given an apartment that looked over the marina (which we had 12 years ago) but maybe we should have put a request in for that when we booked. The beach on site is also clean with plenty of sunbeds/loungers. There are also canoes for guests to use in the water. The resort doesn't seem to offer breakfast anymore which it did 12 years ago, not a big deal as you can make your own breakfast in the apartment or visit one of the diners nearby. The staff are all really helpful and welcoming. We arrived really late in the evening, yet there was somebody working at the gate all the time, the man at reception was also great. It is a family friendly/orientated resort and a place that is also quite secluded. I just love it here and would definitely return. Have a Mississippi Mudslide at the bar YUM. Ocean Pointe is in a good location, not far from the supermarkets, Robbies Tarpon, Dolphin Cove Key Largo (swimming with the dolphins) etc.

Paradise - Trip Advisor Comment

We had a very spacious 2 bedroom suite overlooking the Gulf and a beautiful white beach. The room had a full size fridge, washing machine, dryer and full size stove. I have stayed in many hotels both on business and with the family and this is definitely one of best. Even the cafe and bar doesn't charge silly hotel prices but even if they were given out free cocktails, I don't think it would entice my wife and 1 away from the view from our balcony. Fantastic, highly recommended.

Fantastic Vacation - Trip Advisor Comment

Very spacious 2 bedroom suite with beautiful gulf views! The condo was very clean and the property well maintained. There was an on-site cafe with cooked to order breakfast and lunch items which were tasty and VERY fairly priced. There was also a tiki bar located at the entrance to the beach. Great service and pricing as well! I have to say that we never used the pool while we were there but instead spent all of our time on the beautiful white sand beach. We were able to rent chairs and paddleboards very easily. Would definitely return!

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Viola, I wanted to thank you on behalf of Delta Gamma for accommodating our stay. Your staff and facilities were beyond our expectations and we truly appreciate you allowing our chapter to stay in your suites! Again, thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to coming back! Best, C. Baer

Good Location for Exploring- Trip Advisor

We rented at neat condo for spring vacation. Very reasonable price. Worked well for our needs. Great views but the balcony was barely big enough for two chairs. The Pool was great and the atmosphere was more family oriented instead of a "spring break" attitude although you can get a good daily special cocktail from Marlin there. Overall a good, convenient, safe spot for family spring vacation. There is plenty of opportunity to kayak and fish in the area.

Good Stay Helped by Nature- Trip Advisor

We arrived lateish, was easy to find, reception staff very welcoming. Room was great and must have benefitted from a different owner to recent reviewer because it was spotless. Large sitting room with balcony and kitchenette, bedroom was very roomy as was shower room. Grounds were quiet and well kept, cats around but is usual for they keys. Loved the lightening display off the pier in front of the cafe. We chose the hotel to fit in with our overall budget and found this compared really well with others around and didn't disappoint. Only negative comment is hotel was on wrong side of island to see the sunset so had to drive a couple of miles to enjoy it

Sunset Vistas...we're impressed!

I had decided to ease into to my 40's by having a beach weekend with my family. Beach weekends are something we have done in the past. This time, I went looking for something that would accommodate each of us. Something that would allow for family members who were unsure if they would be able to fly in, room enough if they did. For activities; I was planing to spend my time Surf fishing, beach bumming and cooling off in the gulf with those family members who loved to do the same. For the rest, I was looking for something with a pool, and nearby activities such as shopping for those less enthused with salt water, or a full day in the sun, sand, and salt. Sunset Vistas fit the bill. Sunset Vistas offers a home-away from home feel. Like your own condo on the beach. The ones we stayed in were two bedroom, two bath. The master bedroom had it's own bathroom and balcony access. The unit itself had a water view as I think each of them do. These are like condos, fully equipped: kitchen, washer and dryer, dinning and living area. Tv's in each room. Perfect! Just down the road, I mean walking distance, is John's Pass Village; great for those who want to do a little shopping. Plus, there is a near famous ice cream place literally next door; it's the Shake Shack, for those who want a really good chocolate malt. I had one, and it should be famous, it's that good. I have to say, we were each impressed with the cleanliness of the unit, the friendliness of the staff, and their attentiveness to our requests. The grounds are well kept, well maintained, with a beautiful garden area in the middle. There is a little cafe in the front which was perfect for breakfast or lunch. The food was good and the prices were good too. There is also a bar at the end of the units facing the water. The tenders were friendly and the cocktail I had was very good. As I was there celebrating my 40th birthday; I decided to invite a few friends and co-workers to join us on the beach for a little bbq. My whole thought was a casual get-together on the beach. From my first conversations with the staff regarding my wishes, they we're both friendly and helpful. They informed me that I could make use of the cafe area, which would be quite nice for an event for a few reasons: it's covered, so weather would not be an issue; has a bar inside, overlooks the garden area, and they can cater if that is something you're interested in. But, I was thinking more sand between the toes: beach, beer, and meat. The staff did everything humanly possible to honor my wishes. On the day of our event, the management staff met with me to ensure everything was in place for things to go on without a hitch. I explained to them there was an open invitation of sorts and I didn't know exactly how many would show. When I gave the staff a number of who might show, they had their staff prepared to handle all guest parking and were fully ready to assistant our guests. I was shocked by their attentiveness, their helpfulness, and their attention to detail. It was as if they managed an event or two before this one :-) They were great! So my 40th went off without a hitch. The weather held, the grill area was secured, the coolers were in place: we grilled, we had sand between our toes, we ate meat, we drank, we celebrated, and the people here and Sunset Vistas helped make my 40th birthday a memorable one. Thank you Sunset Vistas!

“It doesn't get any better” -Tripadvisor

We stayed here last year and had an awesome stay. We were excited to come back this year and see the renovations promised Boy were we suprised on how beautiful the new rooms are. I travel to Tampa for business regularly and I usually stay at a local brand hotel but not anymore. Sailports new room package is comparable to any top brand hotel and add in the full suites with full kitchens and it's a no brainer. Stainless steel appliances and granite in the room I was in. Kudos to the management amazing improvements. Staff is outstanding even better than last year. I will be back. Peanut9301

Family Friendly Location- Trip Advisor

We booked two suites with a special that included water sports at the nearby, as well as 20% off all purchases at the Ocean Pointe cafe, and 4 free delicious fruit smoothies (per suite). The staff was friendly and helpful. The suites were clean and comfortable and included a fully equipped kitchen. One suite had a double bed in the bedroom and one full bath. The other had a king bed in the bedroom and two full baths and had been recently updated. We enjoyed the large pool (with full bar service!) and the beach on site. There is a marina as well. You can rent kayaks. We took advantage of the water sports and had a sunset cruise with Captain Dan (value $250). It was a beautiful sunset. And my son loved the jet ski (value $75) experience. Our group was aged 25 to 83 years old and everyone enjoyed the stay. We would stay here again.

Great Value, Great Place- Trip Advisor

We and friends stayed in two of the renovated two bedroom suites in late July. The suites were well appointed with great views. The furnishings were perfect. Very family-oriented with a nice clean pool and great tennis courts. The staff was particularly helpful and accommodated us nicely in several ways. The small restaurant provided an excellent breakfast that fueled us up for a day of diving. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked our stay for our next dive trip in August, There was nothing negative at all about our stay. Great suites, great staff, great location and we'd recommend it to anyone.

GREAT family experience- Trip Advisor

We stayed for a few days with our son/daughter in-law/grandbaby in a two bedroom overlooking the water. It was great, room was clean and large enough and private enough for two families. Pool was terrific for the family, beach was manicured (not real natural) but fine with us. The help...especially Rochelle and Shinea made us most welcome and offered suggestions to improve our addition to being continually happy and funny. I was more than satisfied with my stay here. I do understand that each unit could change depending on the owner...but we'll definitely be back.

Better than we Expected - TripAdvisor

We stayed at Sailport for 5 nights. We found this place online and hoped the pictures were accurate and reviews were trustworthy. We were very pleasantly surprised. We arrived in the evening to an amazing sunset and found our room to be cold and clean. We overlooked the fishing pier and man-made beach, which does not provide sunset views from the balcony, but there were plenty of chairs outside if we wanted to sit on the other side. The fishing pier was our boys' favorite way to start each day and bait was just a short ride away (we wished their mini-store sold bait!). We went to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, as well as a Rays game. We drove 15 miles to the parks each day and looked for (and saw many) other places to stay next time and decided Sailport will be our destination next time, too! The closest grocery was about 7 minutes away on Dale Mabry and the restaurants surrounding the immediate area were not places we wanted to go with kids (Bahama Breeze was our only option). We never once heard any noise from our second floor room and the bed was better than our own. =/ The boys slept on the sofabed and didn't complain, but an adult might....the bunkbeds were small like on a train sleeper car. All in all we will definitely return as this was a really nice place to come home to after an exhausting day in the Florida sun at an amusement park

Sailport is Tampa's finest Resort - TripAdvis

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay celebrating my 40th birthday. The View of the Bay is breathtakingly beautiful, the room spacious and clean, and the staff attentive and friendly. This is where i will stay everytime when in Tampa.

Great Room with a Great Location - Expedia

We needed a place to stay out-of-the-blue and stumbled upon this great deal last minute. The balcony view was amazing after a long drive, especially at sunset. The Bahama Breeze bistro was close by with a great atmosphere for a week day. Being off US 60 give great access to downtown Tampa or to Clearwater. While we did not have breakfast included, the convenience store did the trick for us.

Wonderful weeks vacation - Trip advisor

Just returned home. Traveled with husband, and 4 kids ages 2-11. We stayed 7 nights. Our room was very well cleaned. We were 3rd floor, south side. We could see the beach from our deck, at an angle. I spoke to the manager before we arrived about some concerns regarding my daughters food allergy. He provided me with everything I needed. No questions asked. Our check in was by far one of the easiest check ins ever. The lady was more than helpful. We had a flight delay, and we were all starving. She helped us get some quick food and pointed us in all the right directions. My kids saw the signs warning about the sting rays, and it scared them a bit. The lady working the desk this day was so kind, and talked to the girls all about the sting rays, and reassured them that they were safe and to have fun. That's just what they did! There is no towel exchange for the pool/beach, however, the front desk will have towels sent very quick up to your room, anytime. There is also washer and dryer in the unit. We used the café for breakfast the last few days. The ladies working in there are great. Very friendly and helpful.

On the beach, there is fantastic shelling if you can swim out a bit. We put our older 2 on a noodle (found in the courtesy box) and they were able to kick out with us. There is a sand bar that goes on forever right after the part where you cant touch. We found all kinds of cool shells, and sea life. Just remember to leave anything living alone.

I cant say enough about the friendliness of the staff here. Everyone from the front desk to security was always saying hello and smiling. Nice change from the people I deal with everyday!!

Third stay - loved it! Trip advisor

This was our third time staying at Sunset Vistas and we would not hesitate to return. We stayed in 602W and the only "issue" we ran into was needing an extra skillet to make french toast. Within a few minutes, the front desk sent up a brand new skillet and spatula - service, service, service! Beautiful views and area.

Excellent Beachfront location-trip advisor

My wife, teen-age son and daughter and I stayed at the Sunset Vistas July 12-18, 2013 and had a wonderful time. The condo was open and airy with a very large kitchen, big living room area, two full bathrooms and 2 separate bedrooms. It was definitely big enough for my family.

The bonuses were the washer and dryer (which we used a couple times), the full-sized, modern appliances, flat screen TVS in the 2 bedrooms and living room, and the updated furniture in each room. We definitely felt comfortable and at home. Our second-floor room had a fantastic view of the Gulf and a large balcony which stretched outside from the main bedroom to the living room. Both rooms had a door wall accessing the balcony.

The condo had central air, so we never had a humid, muggy feeling in the room. The beds were comfortable and clean, and all of the appliances worked well. The cupboards and drawers in the kitchen were fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We also did not have any issues with the WiFi. My laptop, iPad and iPhone never had any wireless connection issues.

Housecleaning came a couple times during our stay and they did a fine job. The customer service at the front desk was very helpful with helping us decide on restaurants and local sites to see. Check in and check out were very smooth. Also, each room gets a parking space, which was very convenient because we always knew where we parked and it was close to our room.

The pool area and surrounding grounds also were tropical and very pleasant. Plenty of chairs and tables at the pool, which definitely was in full use while we were there. They could use some speakers playing music at the pool though. A tiki bar serving drinks also was close to the pool. You also can bring your own cooler with drinks (non-glass) down to the pool area.

The beach was directly outside the hotel property grounds with a very large beachfront. Very clean and well-maintained white sand beach.

The Sunset Vistas is in a great location between Clearwater and St. Pete Beach with tons of great restaurants all around. A large Publix grocery store is about a mile south where you can stock up the kitchen and refrigerator with food and beverages. We found some great restaurants heading north, including the Conch Republic Grill in North Redington Beach, a couple Crabby Bills restaurants, and Sloppy Joes about a mile south at the Bilmar.

We will definitely stay at the Sunset Vistas again. Very, very pleased with it.

Mr. and Mrs.

Our family stayed at Sunset Vistas during July, 2013 in a two bedroom suite. The suite was very clean and well equipped/furnished. The beach was wonderful as was the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were allowed to use the facilities (pool, beach, fitness center, cafe, etc.) while we waited to check in (we arrived at 10 and our room wasn't ready until the 4 pm check in time). We had a wonderful time- thanks Sunset Vistas!!!

Recent stay - Sailport

My husband and I want to thank the whole staff for our recent stay. The rooms as well as the grounds, the pool and the common areas were very clean and well-kept. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful stay and have already shared the site with friends and family. Dick and Linda Wheeler
