Hospitality Management Company Polishes up Corporate Image and Properties

Provident Management Poised to Capture Business as Economy Rebounds

Clearwater, FL (December 2009) - During this economic downturn, Clearwater-based Provident Management Corporation turned inward. A hospitality management company specializing in developing, managing, and consulting to the condo hotel sector, Provident decided to take the time they would normally have dedicated to cultivating new developers and investors, to retool themselves.

According to president Brent Howie, “Like every other business out there, times dictated we trim fat and reassess our short and long term goals. As lenders had little money for investors, that side of our business went dormant. But we also knew we needed to ready ourselves for better times, so that Provident would be poised to meet the new face of challenges and business opportunities when the economy rebounded.”

They did this on both the corporate and property level. Here in Tampa, they gave a new face to their Sailport Waterfront Suites. Located on desirable Rocky Point Island, and near Tampa International Airport and the Westshore Business District, Sailport is suitable for business travelers as corporate visitors can enjoy the property’s one bedroom and two bedroom condominium suites, with living, kitchen and dining areas, as a Meeting Retreat, Corporate Housing or Extended Stay venue.

Provident realized they had a unique amenity to offer at Sailport that needed to be more fully exploited – a sandy beach. So they kicked it up a notch by expanding their small beach and adding a series of beachfront amenities that would be enjoyed after business hours by corporate clients as well as unit owners and extended stay snowbirds this winter.

“What’s significant about our beach expansion is that Sailport is one of only two hotels in Tampa proper with it’s own beach. Our guests don’t have to drive over to St. Pete or Clearwater for the beach experience. It’s steps from their own condo hotel unit,” notes Howie.

On the corporate front, Provident retained the services of a distinguished Central Florida marketing agency, specializing in serving clients within the tourism/hospitality industries. The agency developed a portfolio of marketing materials, and conducted editorial outreach. They also reassessed the Provident look, logo and other visual elements.

Provident wanted a new clean and contemporary look going forward. So the agency’s graphics people used this statement along with looking at the heritage of the word Provident, defined as “having or showing foresight; providing carefully for the future.”

Interpreting it’s meaning graphically, they choose a contemporary font in which they customized it’s characters so no other company would posses this look… accentuating the “P” since the word is initiated with this letter. They then gave it a graphic contemporary spin by making the “P” look like a wide open eye, that suggests looking into the future. The circle completes the head/face look but also suggests that Provident is not only a fully comprehensive and complete company, but has all it’s entities encircled within one group. This also ties in with the company’s corporate philosophy. A warm gray any navy palette was then chosen for the design because although the company wanted to be contemporary and show great foresight, they also wanted to convey a sense of conservativeness, history and trust.

Provident’s portfolio of condo hotel properties includes another Emerald Coast mainstay, the Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites on Treasure Island, as well as the new Aqualea Resort Condominium on Clearwater Beach, plus The Mutiny Hotel on the bay in Coconut Grove and the Ocean Pointe Suites and marina at Key Largo.

They are also providing consulting services on two new developments. Coming soon, the Inn at Four Green Fields, a 120-room boutique luxury hotel, will sit in the epicenter of downtown Tampa, where business, culture, entertainment, and education come together. This beautiful and substantial building’s classic old-European style will appear strikingly different from everything surrounding it, creating an interesting and desirable destination in an area that is fast becoming the upscale urban heart of Tampa Bay. According to Provident, no expense will be spared to recreate the timeless traditions of old-world European charm and hospitality, paying close attention to the details that make the difference between just doing things, and doing things right.

Provident’s second project is scheduled to open in 2010. The Blue Rose will be Orlando's tallest and most magnificent Condominium hotel property. Inspired by the energy of New York, the passion of Miami and the sheer excitement of Las Vegas, The Blue Rose will be a condominium hotel like no other, featuring 1500 units towering over an entertainment complex that includes a Broadway Theatre.

“The past two years have not been easy,” opines Howie. “But regardless of what the times bring us, we’re ready to meet the day both at the corporate and property level. We have always invested in Florida and see ourselves as a piece of the big Florida tourism industry puzzle. A stronger Provident Management Corporation can only serve to strengthen the state’s economy within the tourism/hospitality sector, helping us all to rebound sooner rather than later.”
