Sunset Vistas...we're impressed!

I had decided to ease into to my 40's by having a beach weekend with my family. Beach weekends are something we have done in the past. This time, I went looking for something that would accommodate each of us. Something that would allow for family members who were unsure if they would be able to fly in, room enough if they did. For activities; I was planing to spend my time Surf fishing, beach bumming and cooling off in the gulf with those family members who loved to do the same. For the rest, I was looking for something with a pool, and nearby activities such as shopping for those less enthused with salt water, or a full day in the sun, sand, and salt. Sunset Vistas fit the bill. Sunset Vistas offers a home-away from home feel. Like your own condo on the beach. The ones we stayed in were two bedroom, two bath. The master bedroom had it's own bathroom and balcony access. The unit itself had a water view as I think each of them do. These are like condos, fully equipped: kitchen, washer and dryer, dinning and living area. Tv's in each room. Perfect! Just down the road, I mean walking distance, is John's Pass Village; great for those who want to do a little shopping. Plus, there is a near famous ice cream place literally next door; it's the Shake Shack, for those who want a really good chocolate malt. I had one, and it should be famous, it's that good. I have to say, we were each impressed with the cleanliness of the unit, the friendliness of the staff, and their attentiveness to our requests. The grounds are well kept, well maintained, with a beautiful garden area in the middle. There is a little cafe in the front which was perfect for breakfast or lunch. The food was good and the prices were good too. There is also a bar at the end of the units facing the water. The tenders were friendly and the cocktail I had was very good. As I was there celebrating my 40th birthday; I decided to invite a few friends and co-workers to join us on the beach for a little bbq. My whole thought was a casual get-together on the beach. From my first conversations with the staff regarding my wishes, they we're both friendly and helpful. They informed me that I could make use of the cafe area, which would be quite nice for an event for a few reasons: it's covered, so weather would not be an issue; has a bar inside, overlooks the garden area, and they can cater if that is something you're interested in. But, I was thinking more sand between the toes: beach, beer, and meat. The staff did everything humanly possible to honor my wishes. On the day of our event, the management staff met with me to ensure everything was in place for things to go on without a hitch. I explained to them there was an open invitation of sorts and I didn't know exactly how many would show. When I gave the staff a number of who might show, they had their staff prepared to handle all guest parking and were fully ready to assistant our guests. I was shocked by their attentiveness, their helpfulness, and their attention to detail. It was as if they managed an event or two before this one :-) They were great! So my 40th went off without a hitch. The weather held, the grill area was secured, the coolers were in place: we grilled, we had sand between our toes, we ate meat, we drank, we celebrated, and the people here and Sunset Vistas helped make my 40th birthday a memorable one. Thank you Sunset Vistas!
