Great local get-away-tripadvisor
My wife and I live in Tampa and wanted to get away for a few days. We wanted a place we could stay the night and enjoy a relaxing day away from the kids and stress of work. however the next day we wanted the kids to come out to enjoy the beach with us. We were very pleased with Sunset Vistas. It was great to have lunch at the café, the food was great. We then spent some time on the beach which was awesome. We had drinks from the beach bar and the frozen margaritas and daiquiris were equally as good. There are plenty of top notch restaurants within walking distance. We went to Middle Grounds Grill which I would highly recommend as well. The next day the kids came out and we had an awesome time playing on the beach, swimming in the gulf waters which are breath taking from views of the resort. We popped back and forth from the pool to the beach which was very convenient.
And to end it off, there is a great ice cream shop just next door. Everyone loved that.
We go to the panhandle every thanksgiving for a big family beach week. This year we might have second thoughts and stay local. This was equally a relaxing time without the 6 hour drive. You can bring stuff to fix in the kitchen with microwave and full appliances. There are plenty of markets and convenient stores to fill in the mid day lunch and snack times. We stocked the frig with water and stuff for the kids as well as a few adult beverages. It makes it very affordable and convenient way to unwind while you relax enjoying the ocean views or watching the Masters at Augusta like I did on Saturday and Sunday between trips to the beach and pool.
I'd highly recommend it and will definitely return to Sunset Vistas again. Probably several times this summer.
Wonderful week! - tripadvisor
I did A LOT of searching for hotels/condos/vacation rentals all along the mid Gulf coast area. I am from the Naples area and had never vacationed at any other Gulf beach. After spending a week at Sunset Vistas I know I made the best choice! The unit was just as pictured - spacious, nicely decorated, fully equipped kitchen (that we didn't even touch!), and every unit has a view of the gulf. The way the balconies are angled, you really don't notice that there's a balcony to either side of yours. The pool/hot tub area is great and the beach is beautiful! Walking along other areas of the beach, you can tell the beach in front of Sunset Vistas is well maintained. We left our car in the space designated for our unit and pretty much walked everywhere. There are some places on the beach like Sloppy Joes and Bazzles with great food. If you're looking for a nicer place, we stumbled into the Middle Grounds Grill and I was surprised to see it was more upscale - the food was amazing! There are tons of bars that seem to have live music most if not every night of the week, even more down in St Pete beach (like Jimmy T's!). We didn't try any of the trolleys or public transportation, however we did use Jimmie's Free Beach rides several times - what a great idea! (http://www.jimmiesfreebeachrides.com/). Overall everything was great and I have nothing negative to say!
Outstanding Service- tripadvisor
I booked a suite here earlier this month for my son and his bride to stay in for a short honeymoon. We also used the suite to entertain some of our guests and for the bride and her party to use prior to their beach wedding. The staff were very courteous and accommodating, especially the security man who helped us find parking for our cars. The suite was beautiful and well-equipped.
Wouldn't stay anywhere else! -Tripadvisor
Stayed here in oct-nov 2013, our friends who we were travelling with stayed here before and said how nice was, and after our stay were are hooked. The staff are great and very helping!!! We stayed on the west side of the building which was nice, but the way the building is positioned all rooms will either have a nice view of the sun rising or setting. The food was great and cheap at the Cafe, and was served very quickly. The staff came every second day for towels and just to freshen up the place. There are beach chairs in a box on the way to the beach for anyone to use, floats for the kids etc. We are booked to go back in Oct of this year, so the countdown soon begins. Location is awesome if anyone isn't familiar with Treasure Island, John's Pass is only about 1/2 mile away and all the shopping you want!!! For anyone looking to go here for the first time Don't Hesitate!!!
